CHANDLER HAS THE PRIESTHOOD

On December 21, 2008, Chandler recieved the priesthood in the Smyrna Ward in the Wilmington DE Stake. Chandler recieved the priesthood from my father, Thomas Robinson. Those in attendance included: Grandma and Grandpa from Texas, his Dad and Tracy, Grandma and Grandpa from DE, Aunt Jen and Uncle Jeff - Kristina, Preston, Oliviya, Elizabeth, Uncle Mark, Anut Tori, Uncle Fred, Brigham, Paigey, his best friend - Matt, Brother Pecetta - his Deacons Quorum Advisor, the Bishop - Bishop Rich and me. He was ordained by the pulpit directly after church was over. As the men circled around Chandler and they put his hands on his head I felt blessed. I was overcome by a feeling of peace as I listened to my Dad give him the power of God and bless him. I remember one thing in particular about Chandlers blessing that I will hold on to ... he was blessed with the strength to rise above the things of this world and be an example to me and his Dad. Chandler is a strong young man and has a righteous foundation. He has proved himself immovable in his high standards even as they have been tested within his own family and I am proud of him. When Chandler stood after the Priesthood Ordination, he stood a little taller to me. I recommitted myself to offering Chandler as many testimony building experiences as I can. I am filled with joy that I have the priesthood in my home again!

Prior to the Ordination Chandler recieved the Faith in God Award. What an accomplishment that is! Four years of goal setting, service projects, new experiences, church particpation and lots and lots of growth. I love that program. I am so grateful for the opportunity to grow with the program as well. It was no surprise that I was given yet another program for Chandler to particpate in "Duty to God". I finished reading the pamphlet shortly before he became twelve and it is an amazing program as well - filled with opportunities to grow. I look forward to working with him in this program. I have a testimony that through these programs set forth by our Heavenly Father we are fortified and are given the tools to fight against the evil one. Our minds are focused on his work and we become service oriented, spiritually centered individuals. Our character becomes fully developed and we are able to contribute in this life in a very real way - a way that matters eternally.
